Week 3: 'Student led' Ako Hiko Parent Workshop

Four of our very own students facilitated one of our Ako Hiko parent meetings today. They were Janine, JD, Nathaniel (all year five students) and Brooklyn (year four).

Their fabulous workshop gave parents the opportunity to upskill themselves in google docs, screencastify and develop their digital footprint.

Week 3: Team Germany

This Friday some of Setoga class will be attending the annual 'Have a go' sports day at Keith Hay Park.  They will have the chance to participate in get set go activities, touch rugby, gymnastics and SNAG golf.

This years theme is the Olympics and we are representing Germany.  Andrew, Fehi, Sela, Hinemoa and JD worked together to create a chant for our team.  They made a screencastify of it to share with everyone.  Enjoy.

Week 8: Screencastify

This term we have been looking closely at the Hay Park Way.  This is a screencastify that JD made to share his thinking about the Hay Park Way.

We were all so happy when we could hear JD independently self-assessing his work.

Week 4: Love your Coast

This week we participated in the 'Love your Coast' clean up challenge.  We learned about how our rubbish can hurt sea creatures and how we can be Kaitiaki and protect our oceans.

As part of our SODA Miss Fortes asked us to make up a sentence using these words: jellyfish, turtle, plastic bag and ocean.  Here are a few sentences we made up...

"A turtle in the ocean thought a plastic bag was a jelly fish." - Jay

"In the ocean there are plastic bags that travel.  Some people have been throwing things in the drain and it goes to the ocean.  Turtles think the plastic bags are jelly fish and they eat them and die." - JD

"One day a turtle ate a plastic bag from the ocean thinking it was a jelly fish." - Paris

"In the ocean shore there are turtles that think plastic bags are jelly fish.  Turtles like to eat jelly fish but when they eat plastic they can die." - Gargee

"The turtle saw a jelly fish swimming in the ocean.  Suddenly a turtle ate a plastic bag." - Tuli
